Environmental Health
The term ‘environmental health’ is somewhat of a catch all for anything and everything in and around your property that could affect either your own wellbeing or those who share the rented property with you.
There really is no restrictions as to what could fall under this category – what affects one person adversely may not affect another and vice versa – but common complaints under this category can include:
Overcrowding. Are you in a property that is clearly too small for your basic needs?
Noise issues. Always a difficult one, your landlord is not usually directly responsible for noisy or nuisance neighbours but they may be responsible for noise within the property if caused by old or faulty heating systems for example.
Sewage issues. Sewage leaking either internally or externally.
Dangerous chemicals or substances. Do you have asbestos in your property or your garage?
Damp or mould in the property.
A lack of waste disposal. Is rubbish being left uncleaned or uncollected?
Access to the property. Do you have difficulties accessing your property? Perhaps communal areas are in an unsafe condition? Lifts constantly out of order?
Whatever your concern may be, the expert solicitors at Clear Law are here to help. Not all issues may be under your landlords responsibility or control, let us know what the problem is and usually we can give you a provisional decision as to whether we can take on your case within 15 minutes.
Clear Law solicitors only ever accept cases on a no win no fee basis, there is nothing to pay up front and nothing to pay at all if your case is unsuccessful through no fault of your own.
